New Book: Handbook of Research on Emerging Rule-Based Languages and Technologies: Open Solutions and Approaches

The literature concerning methodologies of vocabularies and rules as well as methodologies to design and implement rule-based applications is rare. In most cases, the only information source for developers are the mailing lists and portals. Currently, there is no systematic approach of developing rule-based applications. Recently, industries such as insurance services, financial services, and e-commerce services as well as government agencies have successfully applied rule-based applications to their daily operations and therefore are becoming interested in rule developers. This new interest in rule development and use has created the need for a handbook on rule-based languages and technologies for both developers and users.

The Handbook of Research on Emerging Rule-Based Languages and Technologies: Open Solutions and Approaches will provide a comprehensive state-of-the-art information on rule languages, methodologies for building rule-based applications, rule interoperability/interchange and rule-based applications. The target readers for this handbook are both developers of rule-based applications and users of these applications. The book will help developers to accommodate rule languages as well as methodologies to design and build rule-based applications. The users will learn more about rule-based systems so that choosing solutions may become easier.
