This site is designed to teach the basics behind creating GUIs for Java using the Swing Toolkit.
, which is the top link on the left-hand-side menu bar. It will show you how to use the site, walk you through what a GUI is and the history of Swing before gently easing you in to creating your own graphical user interfaces.
17/04/2009 - Recent Downtime
I'd also like to apologise for the downtime we've had recently. Was a problem
with the new version of PHP - a custom scandir() script was making it work
with PHP4, but now with the upgrade to PHP5 it wasn't only superfluous, it was
actively breaking the site.
All fixed now though - any other problems, please get in touch.

Just a quick note to mention that I've gone and fixed a few of the errors that have been e-mailed to me over the last little while. I'm so glad people are still using it, and am willing to listen to any suggestions about progression with the site.

18/11/2008 - Back to the Helm!
Ladies and Gentlemen, I am now back and updating the site during my spare
time. I hope to get the site updated, with any issues resolved, as soon as
possible.
Whilst I've been gone, the site has recieved a substantial amount of hits
every month, and I am ashamed to have let it slide.
The first thing I'd like to announce is that my old e-mail address no longer
works (and hasn't for the last year - so irritating!) You can now get in touch

The second thing I'll be doing is updating a great deal of the back end
scripts. It's so entertaining to see work you've done a year ago - and this
year I have learned so much at work, you just wouldn't believe!

The second proper evaluation of this site will be done by the students of OOPSE2, over the course of three labs.
I'll be in labs on the 3rd, the 10th and the 17th of May to help you guys out.

Finally the site is in a state where it can be viewed properly for the first time!
This is the news feed, where new tutorials and examples will be mentioned...along with anything else that is relevant.
Sadly there isn't much to say for this one, other than around three months of hard work is suddenly ready for the public! Hoorah!
