The PUMA Lab has begun installing brand new kit to turn the lab and communal student areas into Pervasive and Intelligent Environments. The kit consists of several large display screens, an active RFID system, Hyper directional speakers, motes, XBox Kinect devices and motion detection cameras.

Professor Nick Taylor has been invited to organise the session at the next assembly which is to be held in Budapest in May. The European Future Internet Assembly also known as FIA, is a collaboration between projects that have recognised the need to strengthen European activities on the Future Internet to maintain European competitiveness in the global marketplace. Currently FIA brings together around 150 research projects that are part of Challenge 1 of the ICT programme of FP7.

PUMA presented a paper titled "Putting the "Personal" into Personal Smart Spaces" in the Pervasive Personalisation Workshop organised for the Pervasive 2010 conference held in Helsinki, Finland in May 2010.
