- I qualified as an actuary in London, working in the pensions field for Hewitt and then Mercer
- Next, I became a lecturer, at City University and then Liverpool
- After some more work as a pensions actuary, I moved to Heriot-Watt, where I intend to stay for the rest of my working life...
