Modelling Culture
I
am a Research Associate at Heriot-Watt University Edinburgh working with Prof.
Ruth Aylett on eCute
Project in which are working on Cultural Understanding.
Modelling
cultural differences using synthetic characters is a research based on
the anthropological models of cultural variability. It will include an
implementation of a model of Computer based agent having the capability
to display cultural dimensions as described by the Anthropologists in
different theories. This model will provide help in topics like cultural
adjustments and inter-cultural communication. It will be tested using
scenarios based on certain situations where people belonging to different
cultures interact and have problems communicating because of cultural
differences.
I am currently
designing a model for cultural agents based on PSI theory
of Emotions.
