Actuarial Research Centre (ARC) Postdoctoral Research Positions
Postdoctoral research positions are currently being advertised
to work on the following research programme
based at Heriot-Watt University:
- Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in investment return-risk sharing for pensions
- Modelling, measurement and management of longevity and morbidity risk
- Develop state of the art multi-population stochastic mortality models.
- Develop innovative new longevity risk management strategies.
- Investigate the underlying drivers of mortality.
- Develop new approaches to the modelling of morbidity for critical illness insurance.

Postdoctoral positions will be up to 3 years in duration.

Desirable criteria: applicants should have
- a PhD (or expect this to be awarded in the near future) in
actuarial science, statistics, probability, financial mathematics
or a strongly related discipline;
- one or more publications in relevant international journals;
- an ability to work independently as a researcher;
- very strong programming skills, preferrably in R, Matlab, C++ or a similar language;
- a desire to and the skill to communicate the results of their research with practitioners.
