DSG Extra Special Seminar / Ice-Breaker Session
Speaker: Everyone
Time: Wed 29th November 2000, at 15.15
Place: Room 1.27
Abstract:
In order to welcome new member to the DSG and remind each other
of our research interests, a DSG seminar / ice-breaker session will take
place on November 29th. This informal session will be followed by an even
more informal gathering, i.e. Drinks ++ hosted by Phil and Julie --- more
details to follow.
The format for the seminar / ice-breaker session is as follows: Each
member, i.e. phD student, RA, lecture, senior lecturer, professor, presents
a 1-slide snap - shot of their research interests, e.g. motivations, successes,
goals, dreams, ...
The idea is that each presentation last *NO* more than 4 mins. A kind
of CNN approach to communication, i.e. short in duration and technical
content.
The session will start at 3:15 in Room 1.27 with coffee / tea and biscuits
-- and presentations starting at 3:30. We should be done by 4:30 (approx)
so we can start out onward journey to Drink++.
