A Taxi from Edinburgh airport (which is situated to the west of the
city of Edinburgh and which is not far from the Riccarton campus),
takes about 10 minutes and costs around 12 pounds. An alternative
(but longer route) is to take the bus (which runs frequently) from the
airport to the city centre and then take a bus from the city centre to
Heriot-Watt University. This costs about 5 pounds but takes up to two
hours. A taxi from city center costs also around 12 pounds. You can
also get buses from Princess street in the city centre directly to
Heriot-Watt.
All buses to Heriot-Watt (Riccarton-Campus) stop at the James-Watt
Centre where the university RECEPTION (OPEN 24 HOURS a DAY) is
located. If you take a taxi, ask it to take you to James-Watt centre.
At the reception in James-Watt centre,
you will be directed to your accommodation and to the
computing and electrical engineering department where the workshop
will be held.
If you have booked accommodation with us, go to the RECEPTIONIST (OPEN
24 HOURS A DAY) at James-Watt centre. The receprionists
will direct you to both your
accommodation and to the workshop's location.
For those who have not booked accommodation with us, you may want to
go directly to room 2.44 of the Computing and Electrical department
situated on number 8 of the maps here. In
all cases, the receptionists are very helpful at James-Watt centre if
you cannot follow the maps.
