SEN002 - Embedded software for autonomous vehicle control using optical sensing - 2005-2007

Funded by the SEAS DTC, this two year collaborative project between Heriot-Watt University and the University of St Andrews aims to develop proven software for sensor exploitation with predictable resource (space and time) needs. This is intended to lead to low total system whole life costs and ease of up-grade with respect to technology insertion and robustness to component/sub-system obsolescence. The approach is based on contrasting the new resource-bounded language Hume with C/MatLab in constructing substantial real-time sensor analysis algorithms for autonomous vehicle guidance.
