  9 (first figure of the dividend) by 1
equals 0 and forward 9 thus, cancel
the 9 from the dividend and place 9
on the next to the left column.
9 x 2 = 18. Here, exists the same
problem as in step three:
18 is too large to be subtracted from
6 (figure left in the dividend). Thus,
act as previous. Instead of 9, use 8.
8 by 1 equals 0 and forward 8.
fig 1   Cancel 8 from the 9 and move up to
the next to the left column 8.
8 x 2 = 16. 16 (what left in the
dividend) minus 16 equals 0.
Hence, the quotient is 128.
