Submission Format and Procedure for Refereeing

Submission Format

Please note, that the format for refereeing differs slightly from the one we used in the draft proceedings. We use this format to get as close as possible to the actual layout in the final book. This requires some small changes in the LaTeX sources.

Your paper should be at most 12 pages long, including title, abstract, references and appendices. It should be set in either 11pt or 12pt for A4 paper with at least 2.5cm margins, and not include page numbers (we will add these). Note that papers may be photo-reduced by 50% so please don't be tempted to reduce the font size and please also make sure that any diagrams are legible at the smaller size. We cannot include colour pictures in the published proceedings so please convert all included pictures into monochrome.

We highly recommend the use of the SFP LaTeX class file, which is available from the SFP resources page. Be sure to use the most recent version, which is 1.19. Check the example papers on how to use the style file. In short, use the following structure in your sources and use the wrapper file below to produce a standalone document:

\chapter{...} % Full title of the paper
\chaptitle{...} % Possibly shortened title to fit on one line
\chapauthors{...}      % use e.g. \footnotemark[1]{} to link with institution
\footnotetext[1]{...}  % institution(s)
\addtocounter{footnote}{1}
\chapauthorstoc{...} % the list of authors to be used in the table of contents

% macros

\paragraph{Abstract:}
 % abstract follows here

% body of the paper

\bibliographystyle{alpha}
\bibliography{paper}
You need a LaTeX wrapper file to turn your paper (in file paper.tex) into a standalone document:

\documentclass[ams,llncs,book]{sfp-ws}

% \usepackage{psfig} % add packages specific to this paper here

\begin{document}
\pagestyle{plain}
\include{paper}
\end{document}

Submission Procedure

There will be an automatic process in place for the submission of papers, to make everything go more smoothly, and we will provide details (via email and on this web page) nearer the time.

26th Oct:Referees' reports due
12th Nov:Notification of acceptance/rejection
