Research

[1] Wireless Networks in Ad Hoc Architecture & Protocols: Ad hoc communication proves especially valuable in public safety and search-and-rescue scenarios. For medical teams responding to disasters, quick and effective communication is crucial. The use of 802.11 radio NICs in laptops and PDAs enables immediate broadband wireless data communications upon arrival at the scene. https://www.morebooks.de/store/gb/book/ad-hoc-wireless-networks:-architectures-and-protocols/isbn/978-3-8454-1306-8)

[2] Cloud Computing for High Performance: The Computer Algebra on Cloud Infrastructures (CALcIUM) project at the School of Mathematical and Computer Science, Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, operates as part of the Dependable Systems Group (DSG). CALcIUM, a pilot within the EU Research Infrastructure project VenusC, focuses on leveraging cloud infrastructures for massively parallel computation, particularly in the realm of computer algebra and symbolic computation http://www.macs.hw.ac.uk/~isi3/CALcIUM/)

[3] SOCIETIES: The SOCIETIES vision aims to develop an integrated Community Smart Space (CSS) that extends pervasive systems to dynamic user communities. These CSSs incorporate online community services, including Social Networking, to provide innovative ways of working, communicating, and socializing http://www.ict-societies.eu./

[4] Mood: Making Online-First Open-Access Discoverable: The Mood project investigates and develops technologies to prototype online-first open-access discovery and delivery services. Partnering with the publisher Inderscience, the project serves as a model for other publishers adapting to evolving e-business models in scholarly publishing. The JournalTOCs platform demonstrates how Inderscience's innovations facilitate the discovery of Online-First and Open Access articles before formal publication.
