I am a research associate in the BISEL group at Heriot-Watt University’s School of Mathematical and Computer Sciences.

I currently work on the CUBIST project. This aims to explore the suitability of Formal Concept Analysis for Business Intelligence within a semantic setting.

Previously I have contributed to the creation of a tool to help biologists resolve incomplete and inconsistent in situ gene expression information - Argudas. I have also worked on the Sealife project - investigating a Semantic Web browser for the life sciences. Earlier work examined the notion of cross species anatomy mappings - XSPAN. Occassionally, I assist with the INCF's attempts to create a mapping between different gene expression atlases for the mouse brain. For more information about my activities please see the research page.

My publications focus on argumentation in biology particularly within the in situ gene expression domain, and the semantic web for the life sciences - see the publications page.
