I am a PhD student in BISEL, the Biomedical Informatics Systems Engineering Laboratory, in the School of Mathematical and Computer Sciences (MACS) at Heriot-Watt University.
My PhD involves the investigation of planning and task decomposition as ways to help biologists use bioinformatics tools on the Semantic Web. My supervisor is Dr Albert Burger who is also head of the BISEL group.
I have recently finished working as a Research Associate on the EU funded SeaLife project, which tied in with the aims of my PhD.
My previous experience includes work in publishing and bioinformatics. My first degree was from the University of Aberdeen in Microbiology. I have a further MSc in IT(Bioinformatics) from Heriot-Watt University.
