Summary:
I am a second year PhD student at the School of Mathematical and Computer Sciences at Heriot-Watt University and the Maxwell Institute Graduate School in Analysis and its Applications (MIGSAA) in Edinburgh. My research interests lie in mathematical biology and its application to ecology. I am currently investigating the effects of nonlocal plant dispersal and rainfall intermittency on vegetation patterns in semi-arid environments, mainly focusing on the parameter region in which a transition between uniform and patterned vegetation occurs. I work under the supervision of Jonathan A. Sherratt.
