Gloss Perception on 3D Surface Textures (Sep 2008 – now)
I am now a phD student in Texture Lab, School of Mathematical and Computer Sciences, Heriot-Watt University. My current research is the gloss perception on surface textures. The purpose is to measure how people perceive glossiness on 3D surface textures.
Visual Surveillance (July 2006 – July 2007)
I worked as a research assistant in Lotus Hill Research Institute for Computer Vision and Information Science, City of Ezhou, Hubei Province, China, where I investigated scene modeling and motion analysis of traffic video clips and involved in buildling an intelligent video surveillance system.
Self-Similarity Based 3D Surface Texture Editing and Classification
I started doing a research project named self-similarity based 3D surface texture editing in my last year as an undergraduate. My main contribution is the self-similarity based warping (magnification and shrink) of 3D surface textures. After that, I also did some classification experiments based on the self-similarity data.
