The MY Virtual Graffiti (MYVG) system is an artistic medium that uses dummy spray can nozzle strokes to create graffiti in a fully immersive CAVE environment. It redefines the traditional communication and art form of graffiti using virtual reality technology. To accomplish this, two sensor gloves, a six degrees of freedom hand-held controller (Space Orb 360º) and a tracking system to recognise physical gestures act as intuitive interfaces for graffiti artists. Realistic paint splat is simulated directly on 3D objects in the virtual world.
The complete detail of MYVG system is explained in my dissertation. It describes the MYVG system’s interaction devices, spray paint simulation algorithm, 3D colour and nozzle picker and user interface as well as some additional facilities.
MYVG system provides a unique approach to creating and storing graffiti. Users, both novice and expert from various ranges of age, are able to create graffiti in a manner conceptually equivalent to real graffiti. Several users have tested the system and a gallery of graffiti created using this system has been set up.
