ABOUT MYSELF

My origin is Sarawak, Malaysia and my birth place is Sibu.  I lived in Sarawak since I was born until the completion of my secondary school before I moved to Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia for my degree.

I grew up in a family of four, consisting of my parents, myself and a younger brother. I did my Diploma, followed by Advanced Diploma in Computer Science at Tunku Abdul Rahman College from 1998 to 2002.  At the same time, I pursued a BSc in Computer Science (major in Computer Science and Mathematics) from University of Campbell, North Carolina, USA and graduated in June 2002.

After that, I worked for about six months and later went to University of Salford, UK for MSc in Virtual Environments.  After the completion of my MSc, I started a PhD, researching on emotional virtual agents in augmented environment.  I have completed my PhD in 2007 and is now working as a Research Associate in the LIREC project at the School of Mathematical and Computer Sciences, Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh. Prior to this project, I worked in the eCIRCUS project.  I am also a member of the VISAGE group and the ISL group of the department.
