Biographical Information
- Lecturer in Computer Science at Heriot-Watt University
since September
1982. Until 1992 in the Department of Computer Science, then in the
Department of Computing and Electrical Engineering, and latterly in
the School of Mathematical and Computer Sciences. Since 2006, Senior
Teaching Fellow in School of Mathematical and Computer Sciences.

University of Newcastle upon Tyne on a SERC project Performance
Modelling of Parallel and Distributed Systems from April 1979 to
August 1982.
- Demonstrator, Computing Laboratory, University of
Newcastle upon Tyne, from October 1976 to March 1979.
- received PhD entitled Numerical Analysis of Infinite
Markov Processes, University of Newcastle upon Tyne in November
1979.
- awarded MSc in Computer Science, A Simulation Study
of
Unreliable Networks of Computers, University of Newcastle upon
Tyne in November 1974.
- graduated BSc(hons) in Maths in June 1973, University
College London, University of London.
