Students can list potential projects.
To make a selection of projects, list the projects using the link above, and for each project that you are interested in tick the More Information box. Then click the Full Details button at the foot of the page. On the resulting page all the projects that you have expressed interest in are listed. For each project, enter its position in your order of preference, 1 for the project you most wish to do, 2 for the next favourite, down to 5 for your least favoured option. Then enter your login and your MACS password and press the Register Choice button.
You can list your current selected projects.
Many projects require ethical approval. If no human subjects are involved then no approval is required. If the only use of human subjects is for a simple evaluation of an interface, a declaration to that effect is enough. More intrusive or direct use of human subjects, and any use of children, requires full ethical approval. See the detailed guidelines below and discuss the issues with your supervisor.
Risk assessment should be made of all projects. In most cases, the risks are only those associated with office work. Work with robots or other mechanical input or output devices, use of lasers, or other unusual requirements all require to be assessed. Include the risk assessment form with the project portfolio.
Staff can propose or edit potential projects.
