Distance Learning Courses

The Department runs some distance learning courses as part of the Pathways in Science run by Heriot-Watt University and Aberdeen University.

There is general information on the courses.

A Web board is provided to link students following the courses with each other and the tutors. All tutorial support is provided via this means. A password is required.

Introduction to Computing 1 starts assuming no previous programming experience and introduces the fundamental ideas of computer programming using the C++ language.

Introduction to Computing 2 follows on from Introduction to Computing 1 developing techniques for solving common programming problems. Access to this course is restricted to students who are registered for the course.
