I have dedicated this web space to tell you a bit about myself, my research and my family. I am a researcher at Heriot-Watt University located in Edinburgh Scotland. I work for the School of Mathematics and Computer Science and my research is oriented towards interactive narrative, synthetic actors, virtual agents (characters), digital writing (drama) and emotion modelling.
I share with Judy the responsibility for the Digital StoryLab
at Heriot-Watt University.

Prizes and Awards:
2009: Applied successfully to attend the 1st Scottish Crucible program for young researcher (Scottish Crucible)
2008: Awarded Heriot-Watt University’s Teaching and Learning award for innovative in teaching. Co-jointly with Judy Robertson.
2008: Awarded an International Travel Grant from the Royal Academy of Engineering to travel to the AAAI symposium on Intelligent Narrative Technologies at Stanford University (USA)
