Applying To Be a PhD Student With Myself

If you are interested in studing for a PhD degree with myself, please have a look at the research areas that I am working on and my web pages; and see whether they are related to your interested areas or not. Once you have decided to study for a PhD degree, you should try to make contact as soon as possible. I regret to say that emails that appeared to be written to a wider recipants that is not directly relevant to my research areas will be ignored, as I receive many emails that I can not reply to each one of them. You should try to get in touch with me as soon as you have your transcripts ready from your MSc or UG degrees. Your full PhD application should ideally be submitted to the Informatics graduate school by October, latest by Xmas, to start the studies from October in the following year. PhD program normally starts from October 1st each year. However, if you are required to attend English courses, you may need to come to Edinburgh from July onwards. If you are interested to work with myself for your PhD degree, please provide the information below to me:

  1. A list of technical areas that you are interested to work for your PhD
  2. A recent CV, including your educational and technical background and/or relevant working experiences that is relevant to the interested research areas
  3. UG and MSc transcripts, as relevant

  5. A PhD research proposal that is about 1000 words, plus additional pages for references used in the proposal

If you are not sure who will be a best person for you to do a PhD program with, you can send your application to the School of Informatics directly and your application will be forwarded to a set of lecturers who are relevant to your proposed research areas.
