The Examples Showcase is an all-hands training for incoming PhD students to the CDT in Algebra, Geometry, and Quantum Fields. In this course, students will choose, together with their supervisor, an important example of a mathematical or physical structure, and will be tasked to give a brief presentation on it.
Students will receive feedback from the other students in the course on the clarity and appeal of their talk, and will be given suggestions how to improve their speaking style. Students will be asked to reflect on how the talk went and make a plan for improving upon their mathematical exposition.
