Aims

As part of the CDT, third-year students complete a three months long placement in either academia (with one of the CDT's international academic partners), the third-sector (with one of the CDT's outreach partners), or industry (with one of the CDT's industry partners).

Learning outcomes

By the end of the course, students should be able to do the following:

obtain the relevant communication, organisation and leadership skills needed to work efficiently and professionally as part of a team.
obtain the professionality, overview and autonomy to move with fluidity between projects in academia, industry and the third sector.
obtain the ability to efficiently communicate the nature and importance of mathematical research to diverse audiences, ranging from scientific peers to the general public.
