In this module students will
- develop independent learning skills
- develop core technical skills in mathematics
Syllabus
1. The student will follow a pre-determined course of study at the University of Waterloo, Canada.
Learning outcomes
By the end of the course, students should be able to do the following:
- Demonstrate an understanding of all the mathematical material seen in Stage 9 of the standard Heriot-Watt BSc Mathematics degree.
- Obtain work related transferable skills by taking one component during the year focusing specifically on personal development.
- Engage with a different culture by moving to a different country.
- Reflect on their experience abroad by writing a short report after completion of the exchange year.
- Professional Practice: Demonstrate the ability to learn independently, manage time, work to deadlines and prioritise workloads.
