Syllabus
1. Review and extension of existing components and libraries which contribute to the project
2. Design and code project (specification, design, development, implementation)
3. Software project management including working in groups, project planning, software development tools, especially version control, documentation and reporting
Learning outcomes
By the end of the course, students should be able to do the following:
- Analyse a real-world software development problem through collaboration with a client and/or real users
- Experiment with solutions with appropriate software libraries and systems, with consideration of real-world requirements
- Demonstrate knowledge of professional skills and conduct with regards to the technical, communication, and human issues in interfacing with a real client
- Manage a real-world project in a group setting
- Facilitate regular progress meetings and results reporting to industry standard
