To introduce students to concepts and techniques used in robotics and applications ranging from industrial automation to robotic companions. To understand the basic concepts used in evolutionary, swarm and other bio-inspired robotics. To gain exposure to the main issues involved in building intelligent robot controllers.
1. Fundamentals of Manipulators (1.1 Different geometries, types of motors, and possible applications.)
2. Matrix operations and basic trigonometry (2.1 Basic maths that is required for the more advanced topics of this course.)
3. Robot manipulator kinematics and inverse kinematics
4. Velocity control for end-effectors of robot manipulators
5. End effector positioning using RPY, Euler Angles, or Quaterions
6. Behaviour Based Robotics
7. Evolutionary Robotics
8. Neurorobotics
9. Roboethics
