Aims

To introduce students to the cutting edge of research in their field, using the guidance and expereise of active research groups.

To provide students with an opportunity to create and deliver a master-class on a topic to their peers.

 

Syllabus

1. Investigate a Research Topic (1.1 1. Work with an academic supervisor, 1.2 2. Investigate a state of the art topic of your choice, 1.3 3. Synthesis the research, 1.4 4. Self-directed study)

2. Create Teaching Materials (2.1 1. Structure and explain the research in order to..., 2.2 2. Create well-formed lecture material on the chosen topic, 2.3 3. Create interactive e.g. lab material for others to undertake)

3. Present Your Materials (3.1 1. Give the lecture to an audience of your peers, 3.2 2. Lead an interactive session, 3.3 3. Answer questions from peers about your topic, 3.4 4. Reflect on the process and peer feedback)
