Aims

This course will bridge the theoretical foundations of C++ or C# with hands-on applications tailored for industrial environments. Each topic provides an understanding of fundamental concepts, ensuring participants are prepared to navigate distinctive challenges in the industrial workplace. The specific aims include equipping participants with advanced skills, bridging theoretical knowledge with practical implementation, aligning with industry demands, enhancing GA Apprentice Students’ C++ or C# skills, and improving satisfaction and engagement.

Syllabus

1. Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) Concepts and their application.

2. Memory Management.

3. Data Structures.

4. Further Topics (e.g., exception handling, templates and generic programming).

Learning outcomes

By the end of the course, students should be able to do the following:

Develop software that applies a comprehensive range of features of an industrially relevant programming language such as C++ or C#

Applying fundamental programming principles (such as object-oriented programming) in an industrially relevant programming language

Implement fundamental data structures and algorithms in an industrially relevant programming language.

Solve practical challenges in the workplace using an industrially relevant programming programming language.
