Aims

To introduce computer network architecture, protocol design and develop design network application systems skills

Syllabus

1.1 Course requirements and layered architecture. Composition and communication of the transmission system. Principle of frequency division multiplexing, multipoint access, CSMA/CD.

2.1 Wireless access, IEEE 802.11. Basic problems of routing, OSPF and RIP.

3.1 Principle and implementation of TCP.

4.1 Design and implementation of network applications.

Learning outcomes

By the end of the course, students should be able to do the following:

demonstrate understanding of computer network architecture and its design principles
design network protocols based on fundamental principles
design innovative network application systems
demonstrate the ability to learn independently and work in teams
communicate effectively and demonstrate an international perspective in networking concepts
