Risk Mitigation (2.1 • Describing the uses of reinsurance in risk management, 2.2 • Describing the main types of reinsurance and their uses, 2.3 • Describing the uses of underwriting in risk management, 2.4 • Describing the main types of underwriting, 2.5 • Describing the sources of information used when carrying out underwriting)
3. Unit Pricing (3.1 • Describing the principles of unit pricing for internal unit-linked funds)
4. Surrenders and alterations (4.1 • Describing methods of determining discontinuance and alteration terms for without profit contracts, 4.2 • Calculating surrender values for without profit contracts)
5. Product design (5.1 • Describing principles of determining a suitable design for a life insurance product)
6. Reserving (6.1 • Describing the principles for setting supervisory reserves, 6.2 • Describing the ways in which assumptions for setting reserves differ from those of pricing)
7. Setting assumptions and monitoring the experience for different purposes (7.1 • Describing purposes of insurance company valuations, including embedded value, 7.2 • Describing appropriate assumptions for each purpose, 7.3 • Describing how the risk discount rate may be set for pricing/embedded value calculation purposes, 7.4 • Describe how and why the experience of a life insurance company should be monitored.)
