Learning outcomes
By the end of the course, students should be able to do the following:
- Use moment generating functions in the context of means, variances and other properties of random variable.
- Evaluate different estimators for population parameters using their desirable properties such as unbiasedness and efficiency
- Construct estimators for population parameters using methods of moments and maximum likelihood estimation techniques.
