The primary objectives of student industrial training are to enable aspiring graduates to experience the real working environment, increasing their cognizance on work ethics and organizational behavior along with an opportunity to relate the classroom knowledge to various practices in industry. The student industrial training programme creates an awareness among the students on present skills and practices there by improving their employability. This course also intends to create a symbiotic relationship between various industries and the university.
1. Delivery of work assigned by the industrial supervisor (1.1 Understanding assigned task, managing time responsibly, problem solving, taking initiative to propose solutions, delivering work that meets industry standards)
2. Maintaining a regular logbook of activities (2.1 Documenting and describing the responsibilities, nature of tasks assigned, including tools, techniques and methodologies used, at a regular basis weekly/monthly)
3. Training and skill development (3.1 Participating in training courses and skill development programmes, mentorship by the industrial supervisor)
4. Presentation and report writing (4.1 Preparing and communicating work done both orally and in writing, showing professionalism in handling administrative arrangements including presentation, company visit)
5. Soft skills development (5.1 Learning and putting to practice soft skills such as learning to collaborate with others in the industry, taking initiatives, handling workplace issues, respect, and autonomy.)
