Aims:

To carry out extensive studies (one per semester) of problems in probability or statistics, testing skills learnt from previous courses, and to develop skills in project work, including literature search and the writing and presentation of reports.

Summary:

Each student will do one project each semester. Students will be allocated to supervisors on registration in October; precise topics and work plans will be decided by supervisors in consultation with students.

Location: Edinburgh.

Dissertations (one per semester). These two courses are synoptically linked.
