I am also teaching introductions to <strong>Database Systems<\/strong> at undergraduate and postgraduate level.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Previous teaching experience includes courses at the undergraduate as well as postgraduate level, covering the following subject areas: Introduction to Programming and Software Engineering, Java Programming, Object-Oriented Programming, Object-Oriented Software Engineering, Database Systems and Distributed Systems. I have also taught various topics in Bioinformatics, including algorithms such as for sequence comparison and phylogenetic trees, using Perl for implementation exercises. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Lecture Notes and other supporting material for my teaching can be found on the <a href=\"http:\/\/vision.hw.ac.uk\/\">VISION<\/a> system, Heriot-Watt University&#8217;s Virtual Learning Environment.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>During the current coronavirus crisis, my primary means of delivering lectures is through the use of pre-recorded lecture videos, which are then uploaded to <a href=\"http:\/\/vision.hw.ac.uk\/\">VISION<\/a>.
