My PhD project:
The aim of my PhD project is to use one of the most important bio-inspired techniques, which is Swarm Intelligence.
The project will concentrate mainly on developing a new model of Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO). A new way for diversity
maintenance to solve the problem of premature convergence. Then apply the new model on a real robots. My idea is to train
a number of robots to interact with each other, attempting to simulate the way a collective of animals behave, as a single cognitive entity.

My current activity is a survey paper presents a bird's eye view of particle swarm optimization applications on robotics.
I am interested in Swarm robotics, Evolutionary Algorithms, mainly Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO).
Perhaps what have interested me particularly about PSO is the role it has played in artificial life in general,
and its wide range of successful applications to date. In addition, what has been achieved in my previous work
(MSc project in 2010) encouraged me to search deeply in particle swarm optimization algorithm.
