Summary
Meant as a primer for the forthcoming album Masque Of Shadows.
The music
Maiden Voyage opens droningly: raw vocals, heavy bass, raunchy guitar.
Sounds a bit spacey to me. Then we break into the song. The singing
seems a bit too overdone in ways. The music has a bluesy quality to it,
but of course taking it bit further since this is prog right?
The material is rather song directed, but certainly not slick. The same
holds for the second song, which is also rather bouncy and features some
harmonica, not a typical instrument for prog. This second song is a bit
on the slow side with a relaxed solo part on the keyboards and accidental
loud percussion at the end. On the whole I sense a likeness to the English
band Haze in their early days, but with blues leanings.
Conclusion
See above.
