Computer science
In computer science we currently have 25 research academics, 29 postdoc researchers and 61 PhD students, broadly organised into 8 groups. These groups are spearheading advances in several areas of fundamental computing, human-computer interaction and software engineering.
Mathematical sciences
Our mathematical sciences research is part of the Maxwell Institute, which brings together our 98 mathematics researchers and those of the University of Edinburgh. Among our many strengths are actuarial and financial mathematics, mathematical modelling in the life and biosciences, and stochastic systems.
PhDs
We work hard to make our School a fantastic place to do your PhD. We have a world-class research environment, with all the facilities you need for your research.
