Go backward to Bishop
Go up to Cube Movement
Go forward to Knight
Rook
Like the bishop, the rook retains its 2-dimensional moves, with the added
ability to move up or down vertically, AND in the directions of the LINES
of the cube. This strange maneuver is also known as stair-stepping. The
reason is that like the bishop's 3-dimensional move, for every square traversed
horizontally, the rook also moves one up or down. All together, the rook
has 18 moves available to it.
