REWERSE — Workpackage ET: University Education and Training
The objective of the workpackage "Education and Training" during the lifetime of REWERSE is to contribute to a durable educational structure in the field of the Semantic Web. For an overview of ET activities please see deliverable E-D13: Final Report on ET Educational Effort.
The main durable effects of REWERSE ET are:
- The Reasoning Web series of annual Summer Schools initiated by REWERSE ET and now running independently.
- The articles on which the Summer School courses are based, published each year as a volume in the Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) series by Springer.
- The Repository of the European Association for Semantic Web Education (REASE), an e-learning infrastructure for Semantic Web education developed in co-operation with the Network of Excellence KnowledgeWeb.
- The Semantic Web Topic Hierarchy initiated by REWERSE ET and further developed in co-operation with the Network of Excellence KnowledgeWeb and the rest of the Semantic Web community. It structures the body of knowledge in the field and is being used for the programmes of conferences and workshops in the field, for the catalogue of REASE, for developing the curriculum of the European Academy for Semantic-Web Education, etc.
- Participation in the European Academy for Semantic-Web Education, an international distributed Master of Science programme involving leading European universities.
