REWERSE Activity Standardization
The activity standardization is
devoted to
- promoting outcomes of REWERSE's research within standardization organizations (such as the W3C)
- providing feedback towards REWERSE on standardization organizations' work that are relevant to REWERSE Working Groups
- realizing the technology watch within standardization organizations and the REWERSE project
- contributing to and assisting TTA in technology transfer and technology awareness activities, especially as far as they are related to standardization

Current standardization efforts
- Active participation within the W3C Rule Interchange Format Working Group (RIF WG). At moment, a number of 7 REWERSE members are participants of the W3C RIF WG, cf. W3C RIF WG participants' list.
- Participation within the W3C Semantic Web Health Care and Life Sciences Interest Group (HCLSIG). Prof. Dr. Michael Schroeder, co-ordinator of REWERSE's WG A2 'Towards a Bioinformatics Semantic Web', is currently involved within the W3C HCLSIG.
- Participation within the W3C Semantic Web Education and Outreach (SWEO) Interest Group. At moment, 2 REWERSE members are participants of the W3C SWEO IG.
- Recognizing and preparing submission(s) for the standardization organizations based on research work developed within REWERSE.
Main REWERSE contributions
Towards the W3C Rule Interchange Format
- One REWERSE use case (input from WG I2) in the 1st W3C Public Working Draft of 'RIF Use Cases and Requirements' (which states 8 use cases for a rule interchange format) and the 2nd W3C Public Working Draft of 'RIF Use Cases and Requirements' (which contains 10 such use cases)
- Dr. Paula-Lavinia Pătrânjan is one of the editors of the 2nd W3C Public Working Drafts of 'RIF Use Cases and Requirements'
Supporting and organizing events
- Together with DERI, REWERSE hosted the F2F3 meeting of the W3C RIF WG. The meeting was held in Budva, Montenegro, at the beginning of June 2006, co-located with the European Semantic Web Conference (ESWC 2006).
- Prof. Dr. Piero A. Bonatti was involved within the W3C Workshops on Languages for Privacy Policy Negotiation and Semantics-Driven Enforcement, held in Italy, mid of October 2006.
