Former and current employments
From 1968 to 1981 he was with the Istituto di Elaborazione dell'Informazione of the Italian National Research Council in Pisa. Since November 1981 full professor of Computer Science at the University of Torino, where he was director of the Dipartimento di Informatica from 1984 to 1989 and chairman of the PhD program in Computer Science from 1988 to 1995.
Current professional interests
Nonmonotonic Reasoning (Abduction, Reason Maintenance Systems, Default Logic), Hypothetical Reasoning, Belief Revision, Logic Programming (mainly as a language for knowledge representation and reasoning)
