Summer School "Reasoning Web 2006"
The summer school "Reasoning Web 2006" provided an introduction
into Semantic Web methods and issues with a particular focus on
reasoning in bio-health applications.
It is primarily intended for young researchers from industry, PhD
students, or postdoc researchers investigating the Semantic Web and
related issues. The course material used during the Summer School
appeared in the Lecture Notes in Computer
Science series by Springer-Verlag as LNCSÂ 4126: see

4th Workshop on "Principles and Practice of Semantic Web Reasoning
(PPSWR'06)"
PPSWR 2006 has been organised by the Network of Excellence REWERSE. The International Workshop serves as a forum for discussing various forms of reasoning that are or can be used on the Semantic Web. Moreover, it addresses both reasoning methods for the Semantic Web and Semantic Web applications relying upon various forms of reasoning.
The 4th PPSWR has been colocated with the 3rd European Semantic Web Conference (ESWC 2006) as a major Semantic Web event. The proceedings of PPSWR 2006 have appeared in the Lecture Notes in Computer Science series by Springer-Verlag as LNCS 4187: see the information about the volume and the online version.

Semantic Web Days 2005
The Semantic Web Days is a 2-day event that offers a forum of
exchange for innovative businesses and European research
institutions that concentrate on Semantic Web tools and
technologies. As a special industry-orientated event, a particular
focus is on applications based on ontologies- and reasoning-based
technologies to process (Semantic) Web data.
The event is coordinated by the European Network of Excellence
REWERSE (Reasoning on the Web
with Rules and Semantics) and the European Network of Excellence
Knowledge Web
(Realizing the Semantic Web).

Open Computer Scientist Position
The REWERSE participant Munich is offering a computer
scientist position starting November 1st, 2005. The computer
scientist will strengthen the contacts to industry and

The workshop on "Principle and Practice of Semantic Web Reasoning'' will be a forum for discussing various forms of reasoning that are or can be used on the Semantic Web.
