Bernd J Schroers

I was born in Bochum, Germany, and attended the Otto-Pankok-Gymansium in Mülheim an der Ruhr before completing my secondary education at the United World College of the Atlantic in Wales.

I then studied physics and mathematics at the University of Bonn and obtained my PhD at the University of Cambridge (DAMTP) in 1993.

I worked as a post doc in Durham, and Amsterdam and as an EPSRC advanced research fellow at the University of Edinburgh before joining the Department of Mathematics at Heriot-Watt University in 2000.
