The main forum for mathematical physics in Edinburgh is the Edinburgh Mathematical Physics Group (EMPG). It was founded by mathematical physicists from the University of Edinburgh and Heriot-Watt University in 2000.
The North British Mathematical Physics Seminar (NBMPS) has members at Durham University, Heriot-Watt University and the Universities of Edinburgh, Newcastle, Nottingham and York. It has four one-day meetings per year, which I organised from 2007 till 2012.
