Gloss Perception on 3D Surface Textures (Sep 2008 – now)
I am now a PhD student in Texture Lab, School of Mathematical and Computer Sciences, Heriot-Watt University. My current research is to investigate gloss perception on surface textures.
Visual Surveillance (July 2006 – July 2007)
I worked as a research assistant in Lotus Hill Research Institute for Computer Vision and Information Science, City of Ezhou, Hubei Province, China, where I investigated scene modeling and motion analysis of traffic video clips, and involved in developing intelligent video surveillance system.
Self-Similarity Based 3D Surface Texture Editing and Classification
I researched self-similarity based 3D surface texture editing in my last year as an undergraduate. My main contribution is the self-similarity based warping (magnification and shrink) of 3D surface textures. I also did some classification experiments based on the self-similarity data.

Heriot-Watt PhD Thesis LaTex class file
Here is the LaTex class file (template) I used for my PhD thesis. It is modified based on the ones provided by Robert Lamar and Jan Jakubuv. Robert’s one is inconsistent with university’s current format in terms of page layout and title page. Jan’s one prints chaper titles on page header.
Please feel free to modify it to suit your needs.
