I'm currently working as a Research Associate for the Institute for Computer Based Learning at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh. I graduated from Heriot-Watt in July 2004, with a 2:1 B/Sc Hons in Mathematics before returning a year later to study M/Sc Information Technology (Multimedia), graduating with distinction in November 2005. I joined ICBL in January 2006.
I am currently involved two projects relating to enhancing the shareability of computer-based learning resources and two project relating to current awareness services for researchers. These projects are funded under the JISC Open Educational Resources (UKOER) and Rapid Innovation (JISCRI) strands.
Outside work, I have varous other interests, the main one being karate. I'm a 4th Dan blackbelt in the style of Wado Kai and I've been both Scottish Champion and Scottish International Open champion. I've just won the European Wado Cup for the 2nd time as a member of the SKF Scotland ladies team and I'm also on the Scottish national team. I am a nationally qualified referee and also webmaster for the Scottish Karate Federation. I've just recently started my own class for Azami Karate Group, specialising in competition karate.
